4 Wedding Photography Trends You Can Expect to See More of in 2025

As with most things in life, wedding trends change with every passing year. If you are set to get married in 2021 and are still planning your photography, there are a few photography-related trends you should be aware of.
This is not to say you should apply each of these trends to your wedding, there may just be a few that appeal to you and your partner.
- Pre-Wedding Videography
While videography has been around for some time now, pre-wedding videography is becoming a popular request amongst couples. Instead of simply capturing still images of you and your wedding party on the morning of your wedding, you can now capture the mood and sounds surrounding you that day. Some couples are even choosing to play some of this footage at the wedding reception as a way to display their love story.
- Relaxed Wedding Shoots
More and more couples are opting for relaxed and informal weddings. These intimate celebrations are only shared with their closest family and friends, which means the wedding photography style is more relaxed too. Many of today’s wedding shoots highlight real emotions and capture more candid moments than ever before.
- Drone Photography
Since a number of couples are choosing to get married in remote, wide-open safe in the presence of a handful of guests (if any at all), drone photography has become increasingly popular. This ariel footage captures moments between the bride and groom in a whole new way and is set to be a hot wedding photography trend in 20xx.
- Day-After Photography
The final trend that is set to become more prominent this year is day-after wedding photography. These post-wedding sessions are generally scheduled once the couple returns from their honeymoon. There are a few reasons for this including the couple being unable to shoot at their desired location, unfavorable weather conditions, or the timeline of the day.
If you have any unusual wedding photography requests, speak to your photographer about the possibilities – this is your day after all and you deserve to capture it in a way that works for you.
